Fun with Chromatography

We opened camp today by playing Playdough Pictionary!

PJ's Camera
The grands worked in teams to create the items that were listed on their cards, using the playdough. The rest of the players guessed what was being made.

We made a dog...

a fish...

scissors...

and Mom-Mom made a flower.

a bike...

The grands had fun with water balloons.

We used these materials to learn about chromatography.

The grands squirted two different colors of food coloring in the same spot on a paper towel and then used a water bottle to spray the drops.

This process caused the colors or pigments to separate.

The results were amazing!

We read this book today.

 The grands used Jingle Shells...
and beads
to create
necklaces.

For an afternoon treat these ingredients were used to make ice cream

in bags.
Some toppings were added .
Yummy!

You can find this recipe on www.familyfun.com

The grands made Pops his "favorite vegetable"

ice cream...!!

'til next time, it's grand to be a Grand!
